2 months and counting...

We have now been on the waiting list for 2 months with Christian World Adoption.  It seems to me that time does go by more quickly in the summer.  I can't believe we have already hit two months of waiting... I have a friend who was on the plane with her husband yesterday headed to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to meet their daughter for the first time and to appear before the federal court (as is the case now with every Ethiopian adoption).  Then they will travel back again in a month or so to pick their sweet little girl up for good.  As we wait I am so glad that God has allowed me to find friends that are in different stages of the journey to adoption...  Before we started the process, we only knew one family who had brought home their children internationally and they went to the Ukraine.  So when we began the process I prayed that God would bring someone into my life that I could share the experience and the journey with - to pray with, to cry with and to laugh with.  And boy, did HE EVER!!  First, I met Jana as we sat at our son's basketball awards party (never having talked before during the actual bball season - i know, so sad).  We were sharing our "stories" and realized we were both adopting from Ethiopia - and baby girls at that!  She and her husband have since brought back their sweet Grace and I have so enjoyed getting to know her and her amazing family.  Then... Jana introduced me a few weeks ago to another friend of hers who also lives in our neck of the woods, who is adopting a baby girl and is using the same agency we are using (the family that I mentioned at the beginning of the post).  It is so exciting to share the joy and the pain of the journey with people.  It's the stuff we are made for.  ... THEN two of our closest friends (who happened to be married ;)  J.T. and Kristi decided to begin the adoption process and have now decided to go to Ethiopia to bring home their little girl as well.  They are beginning their homestudy now and I am SOO excited for them and to share the joy of adoption with them.  Our little girls will be BFFs (yeah, they don't have much of a choice in this... they'll have to be since we spend quite a bit of time with mom and dad!)  Wooot Wooot for the 2 month marker!!!
