On to the Next Step!

Trent, Kate and I took all our dossier paperwork over to the mail shop this afternoon in a very unceremonial handing over of what feels like months of blood, sweat and tears (our dossier).  This jumble of paperwork will now receive a state seal, authenticating the signatures and statements of our notary public.  North Carolina is the only state in the union that requires that all documents be sent for authentication and at $10 a page, it felt a bit frustrating that we happened to be in NC, but that's just how it goes.  Once we get it back from the NC secretary of state (probably next week) we'll be sending it on to Washington DC to be approved before it is able to be sent to Ethiopia.  It sure feels good to have one more step in the process under our belts - it just means we're one more step closer to bringing Penny home.
