Homemade

I saw a piece of art on a website that promoted art for adopting families that I really liked but a print of it was pretty pricey...  So, I went to Hobby Lobby, bought a canvas, pulled out my acrylics and made my own rendition of the piece (the original was a watercolor - I'm not that talented!)  This is the finished piece:

The piece is so representative of my heart right now.  The swirls speak of the busyness that consumes the majority of life, with the picture of Africa at the center of it all because that is where my heart longs to be.  I'm going to hang it in my office at church so that my sweet friend, and fellow Ethiopian adoptive mama, Kristi Thomas, can enjoy it with me.
